Epic Games is rumored to offer GTA V as its next free game starting today

A new rumour has surfaced online claiming that Epic Games will be offering Rockstar’s GTA V for free this week as part of a promotional offer. The Epic Games Store earlier this week added a new ‘Mystery Game’ card on its homepage with a countdown timer when the next game will be revealed. Now, a report by Game Pressure suggests that the next free Mystery Game will be GTA V.

                
The report also claims that the free GTA V on Epic Game Store will be offered as the Premium version which will include the game as well as lots of additional content for one week, including the Grand Theft Auto Online. Also, players who will claim the game and other content during the offer period can keep it forever in their Epic Games library.

However, Epic Games has not yet revealed anything about the upcoming free game. More details should emerge after 9pm tonight.

Grand Theft Auto or GTA V was launched back in 2013 and soon after its launch, the game saw instant popularity among people. According to TwitchMetrics, the game is still the fifth most popular title with around 78 million hours of viewing time.

Not to forget, the game has recently left the Xbox Game Pass and has been recently added on Sony PlayStation Plus.

For those unaware, earlier this month, Epic Games has made two-factor authentication a mandatory process to claim free games on their platform. The developer started the reason behind this new change is to encourage Epic Games Store users to tighten up their account security.
